Palapa Ring Barat Project 2 

 

    According to the Jakarta Globe News Times revealed that the Indonesian Ministry of Communications recently with Palapa Ring Barat consortium signed a $ 1.3 Billion ,Palapa Ring Project

Phase II construction of submarine cable agreement. Specifically, Palapa Ring Barat Indonesia consortium is composed of the local telecommunications business Mora Telematika Indonesia

and   Fiber Optic Cable Manufacturer   responsible for the construction of the connection Riau, Riau Islands, the Natuna Islands fiber optic cable system, full-length about 2000 kilometers.

Palapa Ring Project Phase II submarine cable project is a plan to connect the islands of Indonesia 33 provinces submarine fiber optic cable system, a total length of 11,000 kilometers, divided

into three construction plan: the eastern, middle and western. The signing of the cooperation agreement covering the western part of the building.Construction is connected to the middle of

Kalimantan, Sulawesi and North Maluku, is about 2700 km from the Pandawa Lima consortium responsible for the construction. East Nusa Tenggara is connected, Maluku, Papua and West 

 

Papua provinces, a total length of about 6300 kilometers. Currently, the eastern section of the results of the tender will be announced in the third quarter of this year. According to the plan,

the middle and western part of submarine cable project  will start construction in 2016, put into operation in 2019.
